Iraq's Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Abdul Amir al-Hamdani announced that the ministry plans to launch a project to rehabilitate Baghdad's Heritage Beach.
The aforementioned beach extends from Baghdad's Bab al-Moatham to Bab al-Sharqi.
Hamdani discussed with former governor of Baghdad Salah Abdul Razzaq projects related to cultural affairs in Baghdad, a statement by Hamdani's office said.
During the meeting, Hamdani confirmed the ministry's intention to complete the rehabilitation project of Baghdad's Heritage Beach, in cooperation with its Saudi counterpart, which will provide financial support through UNESCO.
"The project will include 820 heritage buildings including the Abbasid palace," Hamdani said.
