104 Iraqi refugees returned voluntarily from Turkey's Akda: ministry

Iraq's Ministry of Migration and Displaced announced on Wednesday the return of 104 Iraqi refugees from Turkey to their original areas of residence in the provinces earlier forcibly restored from ISIS's grip.

The refugees were returned from Turkey's Akda camp through Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing to Zakho district in Kurdistan's Dohuk, in cooperation with Iraq's Ministry of Transportation, said director of Iraq's Ministry of Migration office in Erbil Alia al-Bazzaz.

"The ministry continues to implement its program (free voluntary return) for the displaced Iraqis in the neighboring countries, Bazzaz stated.

She pointed out that the ministry distributed fast food and water to the returnees in coordination with the UNHCR.
