Shiite cleric Sadr urges Iraqis to clean shops, streets

Sadrist Movement leader and head of the Sairoon Alliance in Iraq, Muqtada Al-Sadr, criticized on Friday the scene of street garbage in streets and alleys.

Sadr posted on twitter that garbage has filled houses, shops and streets, while citizens rely on the government to solely clean the streets.

“Yes we you can rely on the government to clean the street, but how are you asking the government to clean public places while you fill your own places with garbage and dust!” Sadr tweeted.

Al-Sadr is an Iraqi Shiite cleric and politician. He is one of the most influential religious and popular figures in Iraq.
