Sri Lanka attacks indicate importance of "Common Global Values": Kurdistan PM

Kurdistan Region PM Nechirvan Barzani has decried the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka argued that such incidents indicate that there are forces trying to prevent the spread of "common global values", including peace and religious diversity.

"The barbaric attacks against innocent people in Sri Lanka are yet another reminder that the forces against our common global values are still trying to prevent peace, coexistence and religious diversity," Barzani wrote on his Twitter account.

The death toll from the eight bomb attacks on three churches and luxury hotels where people were celebrating Easter, resulted in the killing of 207 individuals, while over 450 others were injured.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, survivors and people of Sri Lanka," the Kurdish premier concluded.
