Iraq to increase output from Baiji refinery to 140,000 bpd

Iraq is working to increase output from its Baiji oil refinery to 140,000 barrels per day (bpd) by the end of this year from the 45,000 bpd it produces currently, an oil ministry official said on Thursday.

"It is hoped that the refinery's production will rise before the end of the current year," an oil ministry statement quoted Hamed Younes, the deputy minister for refinery affairs, as saying. The northern refinery is Iraq's largest.
