The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Iranian-aligned Houthi movement towards Asir city in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency said late on Sunday.

No injuries or damage were reported, SPA added.

In Feb., the governments of Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have sent a letter to the UN Security Council accusing the Houthi militias of violating the ceasefire in the port city of Hodeidah 970 times since it came into force on December 18.

In the letter,he three governments said they remain committed to the agreement struck between Yemen’s legitimacy and the insurgents in Stockholm, Sweden to achieve a peaceful solution to the country’s conflict.

But they expressed alarm at the Houthis' refusal to redeploy forces and allow a free flow of humanitarian aid, as called for in the signed deal.

The letter listed 970 Houthi violations between Dec. 18 and Jan. 29 that killed 71 people and wounded 534.
