Iraq provides Saudi investors 186 investment opportunities: KSA Minister

Iraq has provided around 186 investment opportunities to Saudi companies during an official visit by a Saudi economic delegation to Baghdad on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Saudi delegation included Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment; Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan, Minister of Culture; Eng. Abdurrahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture; Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources; and Dr. Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Education.

The delegation also included representatives of other government ministries and giant companies in addition to a number of businesspersons and economic and cultural figures.

Al Qasabi also said during a press conference on Thursday that a free-trade zone will be established between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

He further pointed out to the foundation of a joint Saudi-Iraqi business council to exchange investment opportunities between the two countries, which will be signed during Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi’s upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment also affirmed that relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq went from the planning phase to implementation.
