Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi will visit Iran on Saturday as
part of a regional tour that will include a number of Gulf countries as well as
Turkey, sources said Tuesday.
Abd al-Mahdi will visit Tehran to participate in the economic conference between Iran and Iraq, which will be held the next day, the sources added.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was in Baghdad in March on his first state visit to Iraq since his election six years ago, shoring up political and trade relations as part of Tehran’s growing clout in the region.
