Iran attempts to control capitals of Arab states: Hadi

Yemen's President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi said that Iran continues attempting to control the capitals of the Arab countries after the Houthi militias tightened their grip on Yemen's capital of Sanaa.

During his speech at the 30th Arab Summit that kicked off Sunday in Tunisia, Hadi said that the Houthi militias have caused a tragedy for the Yemeni people after they attacked Sanaa and turned it into a large prison for citizens.

Houthi militias swept all cities and worked to destroy the daily lives of the Yemeni people, Hadi said, accusing the miltias of obeying Iran.

The legitimate government does not reject peace. Instead, it took part in many negotiations, Hadi said, adding that the Houthi militias, supported by Iran, however, has consistently refused to implement what was agreed on, as in the Stockholm agreement signed four months ago.

He said that the legitimate government continues to carry out its duties in Aden, although Houthis have captured all its entrances, pointing out to the government's need to further assistance.

Hadi hailed the "historic" Saudi initiative to help the government recover the areas captured by the Houthis.
