Parliament Member Mohamed al-Karboli submitted a formal request to the parliament's presidency, to question Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi about the fate of the citizens missing or kidnapped during and after liberation operations.

Karboli, a member of the parliament's security and defense committee requested a hearing of Abd al-Mahdi's testimony at the next parliamentary session, including the government's measures to care for the families of the kidnapped and missing citizens, and ensure their rights.

Iraq has declared victory over ISIS in December 2017.

In February, the Daily Mail reported that the severed heads of 50 women had been found near the Iraqi border, adding that they were some of the women who had gone missing from Iraq’s Sinjar region.

Haider Elias, head of the Yazda organization, an international non-profit body said “as the battle is close to an end, the hope of many Yazidi families to find their daughters alive is fading.”
