Iraq, Jordan, Egypt's FMs discuss joint security, counter-terrorism

Foreign Ministers of Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan met on the sidelines of the Arab ministerial meeting in preparatory for the Arab Summit due on Sunday in Tunisia.

During their meeting, Iraq's Mohamed al-Hakim, Egypt's Sameh Shoukry, and Jordan's Ayman Safady discussed Arab joint security in the region and curbing Iran’s interference into the regional affairs, according to official statements on Friday.

The meeting came following a tripartite summit held by Iraq's Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi, Egypt's President Abd al-Fatah al-Sisi, and Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday.

The three parties addressed the coordination and integration among the three countries. They also discussed counter-terrorism; the Palestinian cause, continuous coordination over regional and international matters of mutual interest, development of joint industrial zones; and cooperation in energy, infrastructure, reconstruction and other sectors.
