Iraq's Deputy Parliament Speaker Hassan al-Kaabi submitted his resignation as the deputy
head of the administrative body of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club.
"I will remain a supporter of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club and of all the sports clubs in Iraq, but I apologize for not continuing in this task," Kaabi said.
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (Air Force Athletic Club) is an Iraqi football club based in Baghdad's Rusafa District that competes in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Founded in 1931, it is the oldest existing football club in Iraq.
