The number of people who drowned as a ferry sank near Mosul had reached up to 102 victims on Saturday, Iraqi officials were cited as saying.
Most of the victims were women and children, who were celebrating the Kurdish new year, known as Nowruz, and Mother's Day, when the boat sank while crossing the Tigris River in Mosul.
Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi decreed a period of national mourning as he visited the site where the ferry sank, ordering a swift investigation "to determine responsibility."
The three-day national mourning began on Friday, the day after the incident occurred.
