MP Qutaiba al-Jubouri has expected Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi to send names of candidates for the vacant ministers to the parliament by the end of this week.
In press remarks, Jubouri said “the political conflicts are still the same regarding the designation of ministers for the vacant ministries. However, by the end of the week, an official letter will be sent by the prime minister with names of the four candidates.”
Moreover, Jubouri added that “there are 10 names of candidates for the defense ministry. No agreement has been reached on one of them yet. We were recently notified that the prime minister will select one candidate.”
Three new candidates were nominated for the Education Ministry, so Abdul-Mahdi would select one.
“The dispute over a candidate for Interior Ministry has not been settled yet. New names are being proposed apart from Falih al-Fayyad,” Jubouri said adding that Kurdish parties had not selected a candidate for justice ministry yet.
