iraq parliament

MP Raed Fathi, representing Al-Islah Alliance in the parliament, said resolving the issue of cabinet formation needs time.

In press remarks, Fahmi said “resolving the cabinet formation issue needs time longer than the expected,” indicating that the big challenges makes it imperative to conclude the cabinet formation.

“Problems facing the cabinet formation are different,” he said adding that several parties within the Al-Bina and Al-Islah alliances take actions to resolve the issue.

Fahmy went on saying that “negotiations between Al-Fatah and Saairun seek reaching consensus.”

He also urged necessity to “nominate independent figures for the interior ministry.”

Saairun, along with other blocs, insist that the nominees for interior and defense ministers be from the independent technocrats.
