ISIS financially supported to move from Syria into Iraq: Peshmerga official

ISIS returnees

A Kurdish military source has said that ISIS members receive support to escape their so-called caliphate in Syria and move to northern Iraq.

In remarks, Khalil Shivan, a Peshmerga official in Sinjar, said an agency pays ISIS to evacuate the militants and their families from Baghouz and head toward villages around Sinjar.

The militants, according to Shivan, are being moved from Syria to the villages of Tel Mashraf, Bir Jari, Khazouka, Wirmo and Bizono. He added that huge amounts are being paid to facilitate the return of the jihadists.

Several officials were previously quoted as saying that people in northern Iraq have begun an attempt to return their family members who joined ISIS and are now trapped in Syria.
