Iraq has deployed around 20,000 troops in Qaim city, west of Anbar, to prevent infiltration of ISIS members and watch common borders with Syria, a military source said.
“Over the past three days, insurgents began to approach near the Iraqi borders to flee the killing by the Syrian Democratic Forces,” the source said.
“Iraqi troops have orders to immediately open fire against whoever approaches the borders.”
The source went on saying that the deployed personnel did not leave their military sites for three days fearing infiltration of militants from Syria.
