Iraqi women participate in cycling event to show improved security situation

Dozens of Iraqi women took part in a cycling event that occur for the first time after decades of war and conflicts.

The event, which reflected the happiness of Iraqi people amid the significant improvement of the security situation, started from Abu Nawas Street toward Al-Tahrir Square in the capital Baghdad.

It was organized by an NGO known as Burj Babel, which mainly focuses on media culture development.

Around 200 participants participated in the event, which was highly secured by security troops and motorcycles until it ended safely.

The street of Abu Nawas was painted with plenty of colors, while songs were heard all the way until the destination in central Baghdad.
