The major Kurdish parties of Kurdistan Democratic Party
(KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met, Saturday, to discuss the
formation of the next cabinet in Erbil, new reports said.
The two parties can reach an agreement regarding the coming Kurdistan Regional Government, however, one issue remains controversial, which is the appointment of the governor for the disputed Kirkuk province, the reports added.
KDP and Change Movement (Gorran) announced, earlier on the same day, that they had reached a political agreement.
In a joint statement, issued after their meeting in Sulaimaniya, the two parties said they exchanged views on their political agreement as well as the formation of the next KRG, according to which, Gorran will participate in the upcoming parliamentary session slated for February 18.
