of Iraq's Reform and Reconstruction Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, asked Russian
Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov to involve Iraq in tripartite summits
on Syria held between Ankara, Tehran and Moscow.
Receiving Bogdanov in his office in Baghdad in the presence of the alliance leaders, Hakim called for the continuation of the momentum to eradicate terrorism and prevent it from revival.
He stressed the importance of continuous coordination and exchange of information between the two states, besides raising the security and military readiness.
"Iraq will not be a launch pad for threatening neighboring countries. It wants to be a forum for [presenting] and bringing views together," Hakim said, adding that he hopes Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Iraq soon.
For his part, Bogdanov stressed "the need to maintain contact with Iraq," adding that "Russia views Iraq positively and seeks to develop relations with it at all levels."
