A joint meeting between prime ministers of Jordan and Iraq kicked off on Saturday, where they are set to discuss economic, security and mutual interest issues.
A brief statement by Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi said “the joint meeting between Jordan and Iraq governments was headed by Abd al-Mahdi and his Jordanian counterpart.”
Abd al-Mahdi met with Omar al-Razzaz at the common borders between Iraq and Jordan to set the agreement on cooperation and exchange of interests between the two countries, opening the joint industrial zone and carrying out the common agreement inked in Baghdad in December.
In January, Jordan’s deputy prime minister Ragaie al-Maashar announced during a visit to Iraq an expected meeting between Razzaz and Abd al-Mahdi, saying that it would target reinforcing bilateral ties.
