Foreign Minister and the US Ambassador to Baghdad have tackled the political situation in the region, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said.
“Minister Mohamed Ali al-Hakim met with Ambassador Douglas Suleiman on occasion of ending his work in Baghdad,” the statement said.
During the meeting, the minister “thanked the US ambassador for his efforts during presence in Baghdad and ongoing interest to boost strategic ties between the two countries and achieve joint interests in all fields,” the statement added.
He also expressed wishes for similar cooperation with the new ambassador.
Meanwhile, Suleiman “hailed the fruitful cooperation and facilities provided by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to the embassy in Baghdad.”
