PM says cabinet to allocate rewards for Iraqi inventors

Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi has attended on Monday the patents conference on the annual Iraqi Inventor Day.

A statement by Abdul-Mahdi’s office said “the Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi attended the patents conference on the annual Iraqi Inventor Day.”

Iraqis, according to the statement, “are capable of finding solutions for all the issues and creating a better future. We are optimistic about achieving this.”

He also called for “boosting self-confidence and capabilities without depending on solutions coming from abroad, as well as removing obstacles and laws that hinder innovative initiatives.”

The statement also urged the necessity that “Iraq should return back as a center for civilization, science and knowledge as it has the factors and characteristics of a renaissance.”

During the conference, Abdul-Mahdi announced the cabinet intentions to “allocate rewards for the inventors and adopt their works to turn them from theories to products.”

The conference is held annually by the Iraqi Inventors Forum, sponsored by the General Secretariat of the Cabinet and Planning Ministry.
