Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali al-Hakim has praised the outstanding ties with Egypt, stressing the necessity of developing these relations in a way that serves interests of both peoples.
During meeting with Egyptian counterpart Sameh Fahmy, on the sidelines of the economic summit in Beirut, Hakim called for resuming the joint Arab action to face the challenges facing the region, with terrorism and respecting the sovereignty of Arab countries on top.

As part of the cultural exchange, the two ministers discussed the importance of ongoing communication to support Iraqi students in Egypt. The both assured that Iraq and Egypt are partners, thus integrity is essential for resolving the regional issues.
