Iraq, Tunisia discuss bilateral cooperation in Beirut

Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Hakim has tackled along with his Tunisian counterpart the joint cooperation in different fields.

A statement by the ministry’s media office said on Saturday, “Hakim met with his Tunisian counterpart Khamis al-Juhainawi on the sidelines of the the Arab social, economic and developmental summit in Beirut. They both tackled boosting bilateral ties and regional developments.”

They also discussed “bilateral cooperation in different fields of politics, economy, culture and security in a way that serves joint interests of the two countries,” it added.

“Iraq has to eradicate ISIS through efforts and sacrifices of its people,” Hakim said noting that the war is still ongoing against terrorism.

The two ministers highlighted necessity “to exert more effort to foster the bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and Tunis.”
