Binna'a Coalition MP Abbas Yabir said that the parliament will not pass the incumbent candidates for the new government's remaining ministries unless they are replaced.
He revealed that the political blocs are planning to settle on new candidates for the vacant ministries and submit their names to the parliament in the current term's last session.
A number of MPs, however, said that Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi, Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi, and President Barham Salih agreed on Wednesday to adjourn voting on the remaining candidates until the new term.
The tripartite deal comes to enable the parliament to prioritize the preparation of the 2019 budget law, according to MPs.
In December, Fatah Alliance MP Abdul Amir al-Mayahi said that the Binna'a Coalition will not allow the name of Faleh al-Fayadh to be voted on as candidate for the defense ministry, unless he obtains political consensus, in order to avoid getting rejected by a certain political party, as happened to the candidate for the Defense Ministry post, Faisal al-Jarba.
