Sulaymaniyay-Turkey flights to be resumes in 2 weeks: source

Flights between Sulaymaniyah and Turkey that the latter has earlier suspended will be resumed within the next two weeks, a Kurdish source said.

The resumption of flights came after the ongoing efforts exerted by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and President Barham Salih, the source added.

The source did not set a definite date for the resumption of the flights between the two countries from the Sulaymaniyah airport.

Director of Sulaymaniyah International Airport Taher Abdullah said earlier that the losses caused by the suspension of Turkish flights to and from the airport amounted to more than 5.4 million dollars.

A number of 309 thousand people have used the Sulaymaniyah International Airport last year, Abdullah revealed.
