Prime Minister of the
Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani on Thursday affirmed that Erbil
is ready to cooperate with the Iraq's federal government and the US-led coalition
fighting ISIS to prevent the return of ISIS to the country.
Barzani met on Thursday with the United Kingdom's defense senior adviser on the Middle East, Lt. Gen. John Lorimer, accompanied by British Ambassador to Iraq Jon Wilks and British Consul General in Iraq Martin Warr, according to a statement from Barzani's office.
According to the statement, they discussed joint security cooperation between Baghdad, Erbil and the US-led global coalition. They also discussed the reorganization of the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs in the Kurdistan region.
The two sides affirmed cooperation between Erbil, Baghdad and the US coalition in order to establish security and stability in the areas liberated from terrorism. They also highlighted earlier coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army, which resulted in a positive outcome.
