Mahmoud Sinkawi, member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) politburo has slammed the tension and detention among the party and the Democratic Union Party (PYD), saying this harms the people of Kurdistan.
In press remarks, Sinkawi said, “the Kurds are now suffering, more than any time before, difficult internal and regional situations. The ongoing political conflicts among the two main parties will cause more harm to the Kurdish people.”
“PUK has been burdened over the past few years with the dominance of the PYD on the region’s institutions as well as ruling out other parties,” he said adding “PUK will not accept such ongoing unbalanced situation anymore.”
Sinkawi expressed concerns about the two-state administration, saying “we are not with the two-state administration, however, if the people’s interests in a specific region were endangered, we are ready for the return of the two-state system. We will not fear the division of the region.”
