Baghdad 55% cheaper than New York City: Numbeo

The cost of living in Baghdad is lower than in New York City by 54.65 percent, according to the website Numbeo, a global database concerned with standards of living around the world.

The monthly cost of a family of four living in Baghdad is 2.06 million dinars, Numbeo reported, noting that this cost does not include rent.

Meanwhile, the monthly cost of one person without rent is about 608,000 dinars, according to the website, indicating that the cost of living index in Baghdad is 54.65 percent lower than in New York City.

Baghdad is ranked 269th out of 432 cities around the world in terms of cost of living, the report said.
