The security committee of the Diyala Provincial Council said on Friday that a raid targeting ISIS remnants managed to remove some of ISIS most critical facilities in areas south Baqubah.
A security raid was launched based on intelligence information to track down number of ISIS hotbeds in areas south Baqubah, especially south Buhriz, according to head of the committee Sadek al-Hussaini.
In December 2018, Iraqi security forces in Diyala province arrested a terrorist cell affiliates with ISIS in the north west of Baqubah, an Iraqi security source announced. The three-member cell is involved in violent acts that terrorized the residents of Baqubah.
In December, 2017, the Iraqi army said made a historical announcement of "fully liberating" all of Iraqi territories from "ISIS terrorist gangs," and retaking full control of the Iraqi-Syrian border.
