Gunfire and explosions rocked Libya's foreign ministry on Tuesday as attackers stormed the building in the capital Tripoli, killing at least one person, witnesses and a security source said.

 

The sources stated that militants linked to the terrorist group Muslim Brotherhood in Tripoli stand behind the bombing of the headquarters of the Libyan Foreign Ministry to cover up their corruption within the ministry and to manage of burning important documents condemning the group in Libya.

A car bomb exploded in front of the ministry, after which "three or four assailants" entered, the source told AFP from the scene.

A suicide bomber then struck inside and gunfire broke out, according to the source, who said the victim was a civil servant.
