Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi told political parties that he will not nominate a substitute for Fayadh unless the Parliament rejects to vote on him, as happened with the candidate of the Ministry of Education Saba al-Taei, a well-informed political source said.

Reform and Reconstruction Alliance and al-Binna'a Coalition held an expanded meeting to discuss dispute concerning the nomination of Faleh al-Fayadh for the interior ministry, the source said.

The Binna'a Coalition submitted a proposal, which will accordingly place the name of Fayadh as a candidate for the interior ministry in Monday's session in the Parliament, and will give the Reform Alliance the freedom to vote against Fayadh, the source said.

The Reform and Reconstruction Alliance rejected the proposal and stressed that introducing Fayadh again in the session means that it will not be held and that the quorum will be broken, the source added.
