Prime Minister Adil Abdel Mahdi visited on Sunday the judiciary of Hosseinia in the north of Baghdad to follow the judicial service that are being provided.

“The visit came to follow the services of Judiciary in the district,” the media office of the Prime Minister said on a statement.

“If the political conflicts resume between the Iraqi Reform and al-Binna'a blocs, the government of Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi will fall, member of State of Law Coalition,” MP Abdul Hadi Mohan al-Saadawi said on Saturday.

Negotiations between the Iraqi Reform and al-Binna'a blocs, led by populist cleric Moqtada al-Sadr and Hadi al-Amiri, failed on Friday to reach an understanding over the candidacy of Falih al-Fayadh for the interior ministry post.

A leading official from al-Binna'a bloc stated that it has no other option but to vote for Fayadh’s candidacy at a parliament session, expected to be held on Saturday.

“We failed to reach any deal with the Reform bloc,” the official said on conditions of anonymity to Asharq Al-Awsat

He added that the decision was not related to Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi’s stance.

“We know that until this moment, Abdul Mahdi is still committed to Fayadh’s candidacy,” the official said.
