US-led anti-ISIS coalition shells caves in Kirkuk

The US-led international anti-ISIS coalition shelled suspected caves and hideouts in west Kirkuk, which the coalition thinks ISIS elements may be hiding inside, a source said.

The artillery shelling carried out by the coalition targeted caves in a mountain in Kirkuk's Makhmur, the source said in a press statement.

The information indicates the presence of a large number of ISIS elements hiding in this mountain range, the source, who asked not to be identified, said.

The aircraft of the US-led coalition against ISIS carried out 11 raids in November on targets in Hajin, expecting that the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was somewhere there, sources said in a press statement.
