A number of parliament members on Tuesday addressed Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission to send replacements for those who have won parliament seats but have not yet taken the oath of office.

MPs from various political blocs said in a conference that some MPs have not yet attended to take the oath of office, while the first legislative term is about to end. They added that Article 11 and 12 of the Parliament's Law allows the removal of any MP who is recorded absent for one third of the sessions.

They added that they called for collecting the signatures of 97 MPs to send a request to address the commission in order to send replacements for the winners who did not take the oath of office.
