Emirati megastar Hussain Al Jassmi recently sang at the annual Christmas charity concert, the Concerto di Natale, making him the first Arab Gulf artist to perform at the Vatican, Al Arabiya reported.

Al Jassmi sang “We are the World” at the Paul VI Audience Hall alongside fifteen other singers like American Jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater, Spanish singer Alvaro Soler, and Italian singer Giovanni Caccamo.

“The year 2019 in the United Arab Emirates, as reiterated by our Emirati rulers, is the year of tolerance. It is a good start for me as a singer and Emirati scholar, to start this New Year participating at a global event which spreads tolerance,” Al Jassmi told Al Arabiya.

The singer said believes that the power of art can be utilized to spread tolerance and love. “The main point is helping others and goodwill. I hope this concert is filled with love. We are always driven by Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of convergence and tolerance,” he said.

The 26th edition of the Concerto di Natale aims to help refugees in Erbil and Uganda.
