Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi announced on Friday allocating a
special budget for the return of Yazidis to their original areas, and the
reconstruction of Sinjar district, west of Mosul.
The allocated budget will be dedicated to settling the Yazidis in their areas of origin, in addition to reconstructing Sinjar district to make it inhabited to weclome the displaced Yazidis, as well as securing the region, Halbousi said during a press conference held in in Dahuk's Shekhan district.
He reviewed the efforts of the parliament and the government in cooperation with all authorities and powers to prevent the return of ISIS to these areas.
Halbousi arrived on Thursday to Erbil to meet with officials of the Kurdistan region and participate in a ceremony for the Yazidis.
Thousands of the Yazidi ethnicity have been massacred and held hostage by ISIS terror group after capturing large swathes of Iraq and Syria in mid 2014.
