The US Embassy in Baghdad said Sunday that the US bought 17 percent of the Iraqi oil exports, according to a short video published on its official Facebook page.

The US bought 17% of Iraqi oil exports, the embassy said, adding that the extraordinary potential in Iraq “goes far beyond oil.” The embassy also expressed hopes that Iraq can become again a regional economic leader.

The US seeks to establish a "mutually beneficial partnership" with Iraq, the embassy said, adding that representatives of 50 US companies will visit Baghdad in December. The companies are set to help introduce advanced technology to start business and to develop partnerships with Iraqi firms, the embassy added.
