Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation
Council Abdul Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani said that the Iranian issue will be discussed
by Gulf leaders during their summit scheduled on Sunday in Riyadh.
Zayani called on Iran to review its policies in the region after the US sanctions were reimposed on the country.
In an interview published Friday, Zayani said that Iran is an important neighboring country and the GCC countries have always called for establishing constructive cooperation with Iran, but unfortunately the mullah regime has continued to interfere in the affairs of the GCC countries and to support terrorist organizations and militias to destabilize the region.
Zayani said that he believes the Iranian regime must now reconsider its policies and abide by international law.
This comes in light of Iran's support for the Houthi militia in Yemen and a number of militias in the Arab region, including Iraq and Syria, in an attempt to destabilize the region.
