Rainfalls were renewed in
Nineveh Governorate on Thursday, causing the collapse of 20 houses and 200
tents at displacement camps.
“Civil Defense teams have evacuated the area, due to the floods and torrents that waved the governorate again,” an official of Nineveh governorate council stated Thursday.
Iraq has witnessed deadly flash floods in November, where at least 21 persons have lost their souls, and five people were missing in Houreya village, outside of Shirqat town in the northern Salahuddin province.

At least 21 people were killed after a heavy rainfall caused flood in central and southern provinces of Iraq, said the country's health ministry. Another 180 were wounded, ministry spokesperson Saif Badr said in a statement. The district of Shargat in Salahaddin province was the most affected region in the country with also hundreds of families displaced after their properties were damaged.
