Minister of Trade Mohamed Hashim Al-Ani and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Salim Al-Zamanan discussed developing economic and trade relations between the
two brotherly countries.
They also discussed the possibility of increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in order to contribute to upgrading bilateral relations.
In a statement received by The Baghdad Post, Ani affirmed the depth of the historical relations with Kuwait, which he says make the two states have a great responsibility to open new ways for bilateral cooperation based on the common interest of the two countries.
Ani also affirmed the validation of the bilateral agreements with Kuwait, adding that there are efforts to activate and develop them in light of the need of the two countries to have a new vision based on cooperation and interaction in all fields, as well as Iraq's need to have Kuwaiti companies investing in Iraq and establishing partnerships with the Iraqi private sector.
For his part, the Kuwaiti ambassador stressed his country's keenness to develop its relations with Iraq in all fields, adding that Kuwait has expressed on numerous occasions its support of Iraq and its political stability. He also affirmed Kuwait's readiness to develop relations and increase the volume of trade exchange, especially as the Iraqi market would be attractive for investment.
