President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and French Defense Minister Florence Barley
opened Monday the first arms exhibition in Cairo, Egyptian TV reported.
Egypt, which has one of the strongest armies in the Middle East and Africa, is hosting the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2018) from December 3 to 5, with the participation of about 400 exhibitors representing 41 countries from around the world.
Sisi and Barley cut the opening ribbon of the exhibition, followed by a tour of Egyptian military officials in a huge showroom on the outskirts of Cairo, according to Egyptian TV.
"We (the army) seek to have the force and to defeat any aggression on the land of our dear Egypt in close cooperation with the countries that love peace and security," Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki told reporters.
