Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi
gave the political blocs until Monday to settle on candidates for the remaining
ministries in his government, a parliamentary source said on Friday.
Abdul Mahdi set Monday as a deadline for the political blocs to settle on candidates for the security ministries, the source said, adding that Abdul Mahdi sent letters to the leaders of the political blocs, calling on them to settle on candidates because he was fed up with continuing differences on candidates.
He pointed out that the Iraqi parliament decided to postpone its session to grant confidence for the candidates of the remaining eight ministries of Abdul Mahdi's government to Tuesday.
