The Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Parliament is
preparing to approve a constitution for the region to solve the region's problems
and to establish a political system.
The parliament will form a committee to prepare a draft constitution for the Kurdistan region and will set a duration for it to be completed and submitted to the presidency of the parliament," said Omed Khoshnaw, MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the Kurdistan Parliament.
He added that the parliament will vote in a special session on the articles of the draft constitution and then vote on it entirely.
After the parliament votes on the constitution, in coordination with Kurdistan's Electoral Commission for elections, a popular referendum will be conducted, and subsequently people of the Kurdistan region will either accept or reject the draft.
