Most of political blocs object to the nomination of PMU leader Faleh al-Fayadh as the new minister of interior, according to MP Awad al-Awadi on Wednesday.
Al-Awadi explained the blocs' objection saying that putting a pro-Tehran person on top of the interior ministry is unfair and contradicts the agreement on forming the government, since al-Fayadh's alliance “al-Binna'a” is a pro-Iran.
"Parliament and prime minister are responsible for the delay in announcing the final lineup of the government," al-Awadi said, adding that Abdul Mahdi should resolve the situation and submit candidates' names to the parliament."
"Al-Fayadh is believed to take over the post of interior minister in the new cabinet," MP of the National Alliance Haider al-Fawadi stated on Saturday.
“The House of Representatives will most likely vote in favor of al-Fayadh as the new Minister of Interior Affairs, due to his accumulated experience in the field of security,” al-Fawadi added.
Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi will announce names of the remaining eight ministers in the latest government lineup within two days, according to al-Fawadi.
