MP Hazim al-Khalidi announced on Monday collecting parliamentary
signatures for the purpose of withdrawing confidence from some ministers of the
new government headed by Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.
Khalidi called on Abdul Mahdi in a press conference on Monday to abide by his promise made before the parliament and the Iraqi people in the voting session on October 24, by confirming the innocence of some of those who were voted on in his government and proving that their records are free of legal obstacles.
He added that it is not possible to accept the submission of the names of the remaining candidates for the government unless the issue of ministers who have been accused of corruption, terrorism or involved in accountability and justice procedures is resolved.
