Flight operations at Basra International Airport are now back to normal after improving of navigational visibility and repair of airport radar problems.

Basra International Airport director, Sameer Eian, stated in press remarks on Sunday that the airport communications department and the Civil Aviation Authority cooperated to solve the problem in radar.

Iraq accused on November 6 the Qatari government of infiltrating the Basra airport security system to help smugglers reach the plane which is heading to Doha without being checked by security authorities in the airport.

A number of Iraqi officials have revealed that the security authorities had seized hawks that were being smuggled from Basra to Qatar and that some officers in the airport are involved in facilitating the smuggling crime, noting that the authorities are investigating the reasons for infiltration of the security system at Basra airport.
