The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that 18 people were
killed in the floods that recently hit several cities.
The death toll since Friday amounted to a total of 18 people due to the recent floods that hit the country, while 180 people were also injured, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The government had described the wave of floods as destructive and formed a crisis control cell to contain them.
The Turkish ambassador to Iraq Fatih Yildiz announced Friday his country’s readiness to provide rescue aids to the damaged Iraqi areas by floods.
He declared that he has coordinated with the head of Iraqi Red Cross organization to deliver the aids to the affected areas as soon as possible.
