Iraqi President Barham Salih will hold talks in Rome with Pope Francis of the Vatican and Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome.
An official reception for the Iraqi President was held in Rome, Salih's office said in a statement.
Salih was received at the presidential headquarters in Rome by Mattarella, where the national anthems of the two states were played.
Salih will also hold talks with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, as well as a number of Italian officials. The talks are set to focus on regional and international issues, as well as means to develop bilateral relations between the two nations.
